black + white dessert board

a new year is here! we love finding ways to include the (not-so-little) littles in the fun + festivities of every holiday. while picking up a few provisions for our nye celebrations, i quickly thought of a few black + white snackfoods we could place on a board for our family to share + graze on this exciting eve of a new year.

there are SO many directions you could take this in! look no further than the baker mama- her ideas are always inspiring + keep me in a board-ready mood.

once i got home, i also took a block of white cheese or two we had stocked in the fridge to add a touch of savory flavor next to all the sweets. it was a hit!

building blocks:
(serves 4-6)

raisinets
mini oreos
chocolate creme filled wafer cookies
hershey’s kisses (almond filled are wrapped in gold)
mini chocolate chip cookies
milano cookies
white + dark chocolate covered pretzels
parmesean cheese, sliced
rice crackers
sesame covered cashews
holiday almond trio
fig + olive crisps

a few additions that would be right at home on this board:
popcorn (butter or white cheddar)
pistachios
chocolate whoppers
chocolate covered anything (peanuts, gummy bears, espresso beans)
fudge stripe cookies
marshmallows
the list goes on…

directions:
(5-10 minutes)

this board is best when the contrast of black + white is played up, so layout items in various straight lines of alternating colors, or crowd them around a feature item (example: use a wheel of brie to make a clock for the center then add snacks around it in a circle)

serve it up: once everything is on the board, it’s ready! give kids a small dish of their own to create a small, custom serving + don’t forget to have a countdown before the kids go to bed!
