creating boards for our kids is something we do around here regularly, whether as a snack or a meal. our kids have really come to look forward to what surprises might be featured + it’s something we do that continues to inspire us all in different ways!
that being said, of all the boards we make through the days + weeks of the year, it’s probably the halloween board that i can envision us making new + special every year! we hope you’ll enjoy a bit of the inspiration here + please know that it doesn’t take a huge effort to make a big memory in your kids eyes! i think they love even the simplest gestures, like the regular fresh-slicing of an apple for them after a long day at school.
hoping you enjoy these special holiday times up ahead with your little ghouls + goblins!!

building blocks:
(serves 2-4)
cucumber ghosts recipe linked
puff pastry witch hats recipe linked
mozzerella mummy recipe linked
spooky pretzels (recipe coming soon!)
sweet petite pickles
pepperoni slices (on toothpicks)
pitted olives (black, kalamata or green)
pistachios
sugared pecans
sesame almonds
mini pretzels (squares called “snaps” are pictured)
apples, sliced
there are so many great additions you can make to this board!
take a look at our “monster mash” board from last year for some additional ideas whether you are feeding a small bevy of banshees or just your usual coven.
happy halloween!!
directions:
(10-15+ minutes)
place puff pastry witch hats on opposite corners of the board
stack pepperonis folded in half on a toothpick with an olive to top it off + to hold it together
place a few pickles in a small dish, if you’re feeling festive, you could call these sweet petites “monster fingers”
add a trio of nuts across the top
place ghost cucumbers in the center of the board
scatter mini pretzels to fill the space between witch hats + cucumbers
add the mozzerella mummy
place the sliced apples nearby. neatly stacking them together helps prevent browning or scatter them in a heap across the bottom of the board.
serve it up: once everything is on the board, it’s ready! give kids a small dish to create their own custom serving. sometimes our girls like to know what everything is called before diving in, while other times it’s better to let them ask out of curiosity after they’ve tasted it! let your kids lead you in what would be best for your family + enjoy!
we hope you love the way your kids will find
their new favorite foods when they eat from a board!
