if your kids are like ours + all-too-often come home from school immediately asking for sugary, or over-processed treats, try this platter!! it takes 5, maybe 10 minutes tops.
building blocks:
(serves 2-3 kids)
4 oranges/tangerines/clementines
1 kiwi, sliced
small candy eyeballs
almond/peanut butter stuffed pretzels
pistachios
directions:
(5-10 minutes)
1. peel oranges; seperating into at least one clean half (for spider’s body); see image for alternate placement.
2. take remaining half + place for spider’s head; add two candy eyes (or more-eek!!)
3. with second orange, seperate the sections into eight (8) “legs” around each spider
4. repeat steps 1.-3. to create a second spider; repeat with additional oranges for more spiders.
5. peel skin off kiwi, slice then add to dish or board. place candy eyes creating a face on each.
6. supplement with favorite nuts + or crackers
serve it up: once everything is on the platter, it’s time to enjoy! give kids a small plate to create their own custom serving. “take all you want, but eat all you take” as my pop used to say!
we hope you love the way your kids will find
their new favorite foods when they eat from a board!
