meat, cheese, fruit, crackers, nuts, protein
we love this board as an easy way to get some quick nourishment when we have either waited too long to eat or aren’t sure what we need– hey, it happens!
this is toddler charcuterie after all, so this board was again designed with our two elementary kids in mind. it served its purpose most recently after a day full of fun with friends jumping in a bounce house from first light to last + not much besides pizza, goldfish, cookie cake + a little juice in our bellies! needless to say we needed a little more substance. this was the perfect light dinner to balance out the junk food from earlier in the day + because it’s almost summer, we supplemented snack-size board with a bowl of popcorn + a movie afterwards.
BUILDING BLOCKS:
(serves 1-2)
pepperoni slices
sliced parmesean
pears
pringle chips
pecans
mini peanut butter bar with chocolate chips (perfect bar)
a few additions that would be right at home on this board:
goldfish
carrots
edamame
sugar snap peas
pistachios
peanuts
apples
raisins
grapes
hard boiled egg
directions:
(5-10 minutes)
this is one of the easiest boards you can put together in just a few minutes! grab something from each of the food groups (we forgot a veggie on ours), line it up across the length of the board + watch it disappear. our kids were most intrigued when we first introduced pears with some honey for dipping + haven’t stopped asking for more since.
serve it up: once everything is on the board, it’s ready to eat!
we hope you love the way your kids will find
their new favorite foods when they eat from a board!
